Istanbul has one of the best public transportation networks in the world. There are several transportation options like buses, metro buses, trams, Marmaray, subways, minibusses, and taxis to reach any location in Istanbul. Since Istanbul is a densely populated city, each city district has its own shops, stores, eateries, schools, hospitals, etc. So you do not have to travel far for your needs. Modern shopping malls are everywhere in Istanbul and some of them are highly popular among tourists. They are also known as AVM from the Turkish acronym. One of the biggest shopping malls is located near Vadi Campus called Vadİstanbul. Students can also easily go to Istinye Park from Vadi Campus located on Sarıyer/İstanbul and there are a couple of shopping malls located around Topkapı Campus, such as Marmara Forum AVM, Metroport AVM, and Ömür Plaza AVM
Like in some other countries, in Turkey, there are also traditional community marketplaces which are called “Pazar”. Every day Pazars move from one district to another one for the convenience of the residents. People prefer shopping from the Pazars since the freshest product for reasonable prices can be found here. Bargaining is welcome at Pazars. Some sellers will allow you to check and pick the goods yourself.
